Every time I’ve seen him though he has exited a taxi or car at my back and walked past me into the venue! Usually claiming to be late.

I enjoyed the whole set but the newer songs stood out for me, I could have done with less DK songs in the set which I still find a strange thought. Having said that hearing the unexpected “Moon Over Marin” was a treat.

It would be fairly boring if someone wrote ‘here’s this band, not my cup of tea, still….’!

You don’t have to agree with me. In fact you are more than entitled to disagree with me. That’s why we have a comments section and why we don’t edit or delete posts! Me disliking TA shouldn’t make you like them any less.

Have confidence in your opinions! If you think TA are brilliant, don’t let comments from some arsehole on the internet colour that!

Secondly, jealous of their success? I wrote this piece two years ago, before they’d had any. How could I be jealous of something that didn’t exist?

As for the whole jealousy argument, it’s incredibly disingenuous (look it up.) That argument attempts to invalidate anyone’s opinion for the crime of disagreeing. That’s pathetic, dangerous and downright fascistic. Are you not allowed to dislike an act without being accused of an ulterior motive? I think Nicki Minaj is shite – is it jealousy? I also adore Alex Chilton, but you couldn’t have paid me to have his life.

You sound like a the worst type of fan boy, the type who cannot take any criticism of their heroes without petting your lip and weeping like a child. That’s more than a fan – it’s a fanatic, and the world could do with a lot less of those.

Twin Atlantic are utter pish. The fact that they are doing okay just proves, again, that the world is full of morons. That’s not news.

The world needs people like that or people with brains wouldn’t rise to the top.

It does pain me to state this…..but as a back-up singer she was extremely annoying with her transparent attempts to upstage Adam. Twinkle always seemed trying over-time to upstage Adam with her relentless head-bobbing, mugging and over-wrought body language, twitching, eye-rolling, writhing.

The very first You Tube clip I ever saw with Twinkle t was from the Paris pub event – it’s a small low key gathering – the audience is maybe 40 people. Adam played acoustic guitar, sitting down – and Twinkle sat next to him. She relentlessly bobbed up and down, batted her eyes, rolled her eyes, jittery antics – to the point I genuinely thought she might have Parkinson’s Disease or some neurological disability. That appearance in the Paris cafe with about 40 people in the audience was the first time I saw Twinkle perform, so I thought – heck, just watch some other You Tube clips and see how she presents herself in different performing venues.

To be blunt – her stage personna is a “ham”. She always gave a hammy performance, evidentially she was under the impression she was the star of the show, and her hystrionic mugging was unprofessional behavior for a back-up singers. A proper back up singer supports the star – the lead singer is the star of the show.

I did try to make allowances for her lack of professionalism onstage due to her youth – but I got the impression she shot out of nowhere, got this HUGE big break and it went to her head. Adam Ant is the star of the show – NOT the back-up singer.

I’ve seen some terrific back-up singers who understand exactly how to exude strong state presence and exude high voltage, charismatic stage personna…..yet they don’t engage in hammy, show-off mugging and relentless eye rolling, twitching, bouncing up and down non-stop, in a deliberate attempt to upstage the star of the show. Adam Ant gave Twinkle a huge big break and I think it is the behavior of a jumped up, inexperienced ingrate to attempt to upstage the star, especially someone like Adam Ant who is a living
legend – he had some tough hard knocks in the past and is intent on re-inventing his new band and going back on tour. I do like the other musicians in his new band and I’m thrilled he will be doing a North American tour this fall so I can see him perform live.

That being said – the author of the article was completely out of line with the remark he wanted Twinkle dead. Yes, her mugging, twitching, eye-rolling antics on stage were annoying – but I wish her no ill will. She’s very young and has something to learn about performance technique. But I don’t like music critics who want a backup singer “killed”. I heard something to the effect that Twinkle is no longer with the band, so it’s nothing to get in a knot about.
