Vaguely Music Related Fact #341

Most of you will be aware of the film ‘Deliverance’ and the famous banjo/guitar duel between Lonnie, played by Billy Redden, the demented hillbilly child, and whoever the fuck the character Ronny Cox was playing was called.

Anyway, here’s the bombshell. Billy Redden could not play the banjo and was selected for the part purely for his (inbred and mentally retarded) appearance.

I was devastated by that, and thought I would share the pain.
